Thesis Character Designs

These are some of the character designs that will be appearing in my thesis this upcoming year.  It's really ambitious but I can't wait till I'm all done with the pre-production side of things and I'm actually animating! These characters are actually based off of people that I'm friends with.

Figure Drawing with Clothes

Some gesture drawings done with a clothed model who dressed up based on a yakuza theme, although I added the different hair styles.  Done both in about 5 minutes, I still need work on drawing my guns, among everything else of course.

Mario Stylized

Some stylized drawings that I did of a few of the Mario gang. I especially like Donkey Kong.

Character Animation Rough Lip Synch from Christopher Fong on Vimeo.

A quick bit of lip-synching done for an assignment in which we were supposed to lip synch a person saying "I love you".  We were not provided with a voice, although we were given the option to record our own voices.  I ended up just using a mirror for the expressions, but because of that it came out really rough, so I sort of wish I had just recorded my own voice.

This is just my current reel as of this Spring.  All of the animation was done by me, although the clips of the birds are from a group film I did the beginning of my sophomore year in college.

Some life drawing from last semester

All of the ladies were done in roughly 3 to 5 minutes, whereas the dudes were both 5 to 10.  I can't remember the exact number since I didn't start labeling times until this semester, but this class was focused on solely getsure drawings, so they were all drawn in fairly short amounts of time.
